Originally from Kansas, Mark grew up performing in many community organizations and in the ranks of local Drum and Bugle Corps until age 21. He studied trumpet with Dr. Paul Shull at Kansas State University and was a member of the KSU Marching Band, Concert Jazz Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, KSU Brass Choir and Trumpet Choir.

Mark moved to Colorado with his wife Debbie in 1984. Mark has been involved with many community ensembles throughout Colorado and is currently performing with The Pikes Peak Brass Band, The Pikes Peak Versatile Brass and the Rocky Mountain Wind Symphony in Colorado Springs. Mark teaches all levels of brass from beginning to advanced players. He teaches all styles with an emphasis on technique, music theory and musicianship.

Bob has a BA and MS in Music Education as well as a Masters in Guidance Counseling. He has 30 years experience teaching instrumental music in the school setting as well as over 20 years of private teaching experience. He has been a clinician for honor bands and a solo and ensemble adjudicator across eastern Colorado. He is one of the founding members as well as a past president of the Colorado Bandmaster’s Association. He was a director of the Denver Youth Musicians for 17 years and has worked with many other concert bands, orchestras, jazz bands and marching bands.  

 He specializes in working with beginning to intermediate brass students, high school players, and woodwind players switching to brass instruments. Bob believes that a student of any age deserves to enjoy learning their instrument and manages his private lessons with that in mind!

Mr. Tom Chapman has been teaching for over 15 years as both a band and trumpet teacher in the Pikes Peak region, and specializes in teaching all ages, from beginners to students pursuing music careers. His students have earned several honors, including All-State Band, All-State Orchestra, All-State Jazz Band, and the National Honor Band of America. Mr. Chapman is also proud of his students who have gone on to pursue music careers, including attending such great music schools as the University of Colorado Boulder, Colorado State University - Fort Collins, the University of Denver, and the University of North Texas, and elite music conservatories, including Northwestern, Oberlin, and Juilliard. Under his direction, Mr. Chapman’s ensembles have performed three times at the Colorado Music Educators Association Clinic and Conference with the Lewis-Palmer School District Beginning Band, High School Chamber Ensembles, and the Lewis-Palmer High School Wind Symphony. Mr. Chapman earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Northern Colorado and his Master of Music Education from the University of Colorado Boulder, where his research and work focused on motivation in musical achievement and the application of high-impact learning theories into teaching. When not teaching, Mr. Chapman enjoys performing classical, jazz, and pop music around the Pikes Peak Region with various groups, including his band, Pourly eDuKated, and Funkology, and spending time with his wife, Jen, two dogs, and cat, and working their small homestead with various flocks of chickens, ducks, and geese.
